2023 EVENT SCHEDULE!!!

All Events at Historic Fort Reno, Inc. are fundraising efforts to help support the operations of our museum, continued restoration, and educational resources.  We look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming events!

September 16, 2023 – TIME TBA

Historic Spirit Tour

Check-in at Visitor Center & Museum. Tour will begin from Visitor Center at 7:00 P.M. Admission: Adults $15 (13+), Seniors $10 (55+), Children $7 (5-12)

At dusk, you will tour the historic district at the former and once abandoned military post by lantern light and hear the history of the landmarks and people who once walked the same grounds over 100 years ago. Stories that will be told will align with some of the mysteries and murders that have occurred here at Fort Reno over its history.  A spooky, fun, and educational evening for the entire family!

German & Italian Memorial Service

A free event that takes place at the Fort Reno POW Cemetery. Join the German-American Heritage Society of Tulsa for this special memorial service for the German and Italian Prisoners of War buried at the Fort Reno Post Cemetery POW Annex.

December 16, 2023 – 1:00 P.M.

Fort Reno Post Cemetery Wreaths Across America Ceremony (click for more information)

A free event that takes place at the Fort Reno Post Cemetery. Join the Fort Reno Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution as they participate in the National Wreaths Across America campaign by laying handmade wreaths on military graves in the old post cemetery.  To sponsor a wreath for a Fort Reno soldier please go to https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/ and go to “Sponsor Specific Cemetery” and type Cemetery Code: OKFRPC to select Fort Reno Post Cemetery.

3:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. Free event that takes place at the historic Parade Grounds of Fort Reno

Share in a timeless tradition from German and American folklore. Cannons and guns blasting, snacks, and a visit with Santa.

The nighttime tour through the 1,000-acre historic district at Fort Reno is led by historians. You will hear detailed history of the people who once lived and worked on the former military post and the strange phenomenons that have occurred throughout the history of Fort Reno.  A fun adventure awaits for your entire family this fall!

Tombstone Tales & Taste of Fort Reno

Dinner at 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Cemetery Performance by Lantern 7:30 P.M.
Admission: Adults $30 (13+),Military & Seniors $25 (55+), Children $15 (5-12) *Includes Dinner & Performance
Tombstone Tales takes place at the Fort Reno Post Cemetery. At dusk you will hear the stories of individuals who lived and died at the old fort from 1874-1948. Experience history through living historians dressed as the folks they portray. Included are tales of an Outlaw, Buffalo Soldiers, Cavalry Soldiers, an Indian Scout and many more. This is a fun, spooky and educational event for the entire family!

Historic Spirit Tour

By lantern light hear how the stories of the restless spirits of the old military post align with some of the unsolved mysteries and murders that have occurred here.  You will tour this historic landmark that holds over 100 years of rich history—Chisholm Trail Cattle Drive, Native American history, Oklahoma’s Land Run of 1889 through World War II. Visit with paranormal research teams who have done investigations here at the Fort.

El Reno VFW Post 382 Memorial Day Ceremony

Please join El Reno VFW Post 382 at 11:00 P.M. in the El Reno Cemetery to memorialize El Reno’s deceased veterans and then come out to Fort Reno Post Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. for this moving ceremony with Oklahoma’s Honor Guard and wreath laying ceremony, followed by Taps.

This is a free family event! Don’t forget to stop in and visit Fort Reno’s Visitor Center & Museum to experience the world history of this former military installation!  *Museum has a small fee to attend
