The Fort Reno Post Cemetery was established in 1874. Soldiers, Indian Scouts wives, children, and civilian employees of the Fort are buried here. Ask us about preservation efforts and how you can help!

December 19, 2026  2:00 P.M. – Fort Reno Post Cemetery Wreaths Across America Ceremony

2018 Wreaths Across America

Wreath being placed at Indian Scout, Ben Clark’s grave, 5th Cavalry Regiment – Circa 1914

A free event that takes place at the Fort Reno Post Cemetery. Join the Fort Reno Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) as they participate in the National Wreaths Across America campaign by holding a moving ceremony and laying  wreaths on military graves in the old post cemetery. Public participation in laying of the wreaths is an important part of this rememberance ceremony.

 

The Firing of the Christmas Guns follows the WAA Ceremony. Refreshments served in the Visitors Center immediately following. 

 

November 15, 2026 – German & Italian Memorial Service

A free event that takes place at the Fort Reno Visitors  Center & POW Cemetery. Join the German-American Heritage Society of Tulsa for this special memorial service for the German and Italian Prisoners of War buried at the Fort Reno Post Cemetery POW Annex. Refreshments served at the Visitors Center following the program.

We have today received a wreath on the POW section of our cemetery that says in Italian “Ai caduti per la patria”. Thank you to the group or individual that sent it.

Note: “Ai caduti per la patria” translates roughly to English into “For those that died for their country”.
