Clark Young

Pvt. Clark Young was a Buffalo Soldier in the 10th U.S. Cavalry, Company “M.” He died from injuries sustained at the Sand Hills battle on April 6, 1875. The battle occurred approximately five miles north and west of the Cemetery. The Sand Hills incident in 1875 was the only battle actually engaged by Fort Reno soldiers. Pvt. Clark Young is the only 10th Cavalry solider buried at Fort Reno. The rest of his Company left on April 8th in pursuit of the Indians.
