This Free event takes place at the Fort on Parade Grounds at the historic Army Post, Fort Reno.  Fort Reno’s post chapel was built in 1944 by the German and Italian Prisoners of War housed here at this historical landmark.  Share in a timeless tradition from German and American folklore— enjoy story-telling, the sounds of cannons and guns blasting!  Fun for the entire family! Afterward, enjoy snacks, and a visit with Santa!

Quite literally a blast from the past, Fort Reno Christmas Guns is a tradition brought here by German immigrants. The discharging of firearms such as cannons and guns was believed to dispel evil spirits in preparation for the upcoming holiday. Come and celebrate this historic tradition with a visit to this year’s Fort Reno Christmas Guns celebration held at Historic Fort Reno. Honor this timeless tradition plucked from German and American folklore with storytelling, good food, and a visit from Santa. Come and join us for free pictures with Santa as well as chili and refreshments.
